The problem
A pet sitter arrives at a building with a buzzer and waits 10–30 minutes with no proof that they were at the door while the 30‑minute visit clock runs. The sitter loses time and money — professional sitters report multiple buzzer-access failures per month and some say they refuse clients who won’t provide consistent access (examples on Rover and r/petsitting). Building access is getting more common: more renters live in controlled-access apartments, and sitters’ evening and peak windows are tighter (U.S. multifamily completions and renter concentration are rising per Census/NMHC reporting), so missed buzz-ins now cost real weekly hours and income. Texting “I’m here” fails when a client doesn’t see the phone, and existing scheduling tools don’t create a tamper-resistant, timestamped proof that automatically adjusts billing or escalates to backups.
