The problem
You get the client’s keys, go to walk the dog, and then find an AirTag on the keyring or a hidden indoor camera — you feel watched and unsafe. Pet sitters also lose hours chasing late payments and once-in-a-while a single bad booking leaves them hundreds of pounds out (a sitter on Reddit said they were chasing almost £800 for weeks). Sitters currently manage all of this with awkward one-off texts, paper rules, or generic invoicing tools that don’t block a booking until the owner agrees to sitter-specific rules. This is urgent now because small trackers and home cameras are common and sitter communities are talking about it repeatedly (TrustedHousesitters and r/petsitting threads) while independent bookings are growing (market reports show UK pet‑sitting revenue and growth), so sitters need a lightweight, enforceable gate before every booking.
